episode 021 – fail task

Van Quynh stands in the back yard frying eggs following the steps inside of the book Huong Lan had given to her on the first day of cooking class. Thinking back of how scared she was of Huong Lan being her cooking teacher.

Van Quynh continues to fry the egg when she notices that one of the steps inside the book was wrong, “This isn’t right! You’re supposed to add the shrimps not more salt that would make the eggs taste extra salty.”

Van Quynh shakes her head and made the egg her own way. After about thirty minute Van Quynh finish one delicious yellow fried eggs with extra shrimp in the center. Right there Van Quynh wanted to just pick it up and eat it right there, but remembering that she needed to presents it to her new teacher, Huong Lan.

Van Quynh places the fried egg carefully in her bag and walk to her car. After getting into the car she looks at the car clock and realizes that she was late. Reversing her car rapidly she hears a thump. “I killed someone!” Van Quynh screams and runs out of her car. Van Quynh runs quickly toward the back of her car and there she sees a man lying on the ground face down.

“I killed him.” Van Quynh grabs her head. “I need an ambulance.” Van Quynh struggles to get her phone out of her bag; while shaking she tries to dial 911, but accidentally dials 912.

“Hello? Is this the police I need an ambulance quick.” Van Quynh cries into the phone.

“Please dial the zip code or a number that exist.”

Van Quynh looks at her phone, “I hate my stubby fingers.” Van Quynh tries to dial again.

“You don’t need to call the police. I’m ok!” The man stands up.

“I’m so sorry! I was backing out to go to school and I didn’t see you…” Van Quynh starts to stutter when the man, Duong Trieu Vu, turns around. “…It’s you from school.”

“Remember to be more careful next time. That person might not be as lucky as me.” Duong Trieu Vu picks up his belongings and walks off.

Van Quynh tilts her head to the right looking confuse at Duong Trieu Vu limping away.

Angela Tram Anh, Huynh Gia Tuan, and Huong Giang stands behind Van Quynh and tilts theirs head the same way to see what Van Quynh was looking at.

“What are you looking at?” Angela Tram Anh scares Van Quynh.

Van Quynh shakes her head, “Nothing…! Nothing at all….”

“We are kind of late for school.” Huynh Gia Tuan runs into the car.

Huong Giang rubs her neck, “My neck is starting to hurt.”

[In the car]

Sitting in the passenger seat, Angela Tram Anh, digs throught Van Quynh’s bag, “I smell something delicious.”

“Don’t touch my stuff…” Van Quynh screams while trying to drive.

“What is this?” Angela Tram Anh takes out Van Quynh’s diary.

With one hand on the wheel and one trying to get the diary Van Quynh runs past a red light, “Look at what you made me do.”

“If you just let me read it you wouldn’t have ran the red light.” Angela Tram Anh sticks out her tongue.

“Come on Van Quynh what else don’t we know about you?” Huynh Gia Tuan laughs.

Still rubbing her neck Huong Giang says confusedly, “I don’t know anything about her give me the diary.”

Angela Tram Anh throws the diary back on Huong Giang’s lap, “It slips out of my hands.”

Van Quynh turns back and grabs the diary when she turns back the light suddenly turns red and she steps hard on the brakes. When she opens her eyes she once again sees Duong Trieu Vu standing in fear at the front of her car.

Duong Trieu Vu shakes his head at Van Quynh as she crosses the street. Van Quynh puts her head down with disappointment and shame. After she sees Duong Trieu Vu cross she tilts her head to the right looking at him leaves.

Angela Tram Anh, Huynh Gia Tuan, and Huong Giang once again tilt to the right like before, “So that’s what you were looking at.” Huynh Gia Tuan says.

“Who can resist those buns?” Angela Tram Anh winks at Van Quynh.

“Shut up…! Just don’t disturb me when I drive.” Van Quynh steps on the gas.

Huong Giang rubs her neck, “One more time and I’ll break my neck.”

Van Quynh thinks to herself, “Two times in a day that must really means something.” Van Quynh sighs.

[TH & KD Designs Company]

Bao Han looks around to see if anyone was around. After seeing that no one were around she signs onto her Aim account, “Please, please let him be on.” Bao Han closes her eyes.

Surprisingly when she opens her eyes she sees the screen name ‘Lu Bu’ and right there a huge smile spread onto Bao Han’s face.

Diao Chan: Hi

Diao Chan: Lu Bu are you there?

After a few minute without any replies Bao Han frowns and moves her mouse to the x when she hears a ding meaning a message. Bao Han’s smile was back.

Lu Bu: Hi I’ve miss you.

Diao Chan: Thanks to your idea I won my designs back.

Lu Bu: Glad I could help.

Diao Chan: I don’t know why, but when I have good news I want to tell you first.

Lu Bu: I as well.

Diao Chan: One of my best friends got a job at Gucci Company. Can you believe that?

Lu Bu: What does she do there?

Diao Chan: She’s a model.

Lu Bu: One of my friends is a manager there.

Diao Chan: Now that you know that I’m a designer I want to know what you do.

Lu Bu: I’m a secret detective.

Diao Chan: Your not chatting to me to get information about me so you can arrest me are you?

Lu Bu: Not necessary.

Diao Chan: My break time is over nice talking to you today. Bye, Bye.

The man clicks x to his chat screen walks to his window. Looking outside of the window he sees past the police in the middle of the room and across to a sign that says Tu Quyen’s office.

[Police Station, Tu Quyen’s Office]

Tu Quyen slams on the table, “I wanted you to go talk to the witness not stalk him!”

“Well if you want something done correctly you should’ve speak more clearly.” Cat Tien folds her arms.

“I made it very clearly that I wanted you to talk and ask him questions about the case. Now that the witness is scared off by you following and stalking him. He will not be working nor helping with the case.” Tu Quyen rubs her forehead.

Cat Tien shrug, “Not my fault.”

In rage Tu Quyen runs toward Cat Tien and tackle her down to the floor breaking the chair. Tu Quyen continues to slap and punch her in the face while screaming and cussing at the top of her lungs.

Tu Quyen shakes the thoughts out of her head, “I need to talk to chief Tuan Ngoc about this situation about us working together.”

“He’ll say the same thing.” Cat Tien smile.

“You want to play? I’ll play with you.” Tu Quyen puts her hand to her waist as she moves closer to Cat Tien’s face. “Bring it on lady.” Cat Tien says with her hands fold.

[Hospital, Bang Tam’s Room]

Minh Tuyet walks into Bang Tam’s room by herself with a basket of fruits in one hand while holding a bocce of flowers in another hand, “I hope you are feeling better today.”

“Thank you! I’m feeling much better. My stomach doesn’t hurt anymore.” Bang Tam smile sweetly.

“Glad to know.” Minh Tuyet forces a smile.

Bang Tam questions, “Where’s Bang Kieu?”

“He’s busy with the shop today so he told me to go by myself.”

“I have to really thank you two for taking care of my shop. That’s the only I have left.” Bang Tam began to cry.

“Talking about the shop I want to ask you something.” Minh Tuyet sits herself next to Bang Tam.

Bang Tam holds onto Minh Tuyet’s hand, “Sure go ahead.”

“Well this isn’t easy, but Bang Kieu and I would like it if you would sell us the shop.” Bang Tam’s hand slid slowly off of Minh Tuyet’s, “I know it’s a lot to ask, but don’t worry we will pay a decent amount of money for it.”

“Thank you for both of your help and the offer, but this shop is the only thing my families have left me.”

Minh Tuyet stands up quickly, “You certainly aren’t thinking clearly today. I’ll return to talk with you at another time.” Minh Tuyet grabs her bag and walks angrily out the door leaving Bang Tam to sit alone crying.

[Wisteria High School, Cooking Class]

Once everyone left the class Van Quynh takes out the fried egg she had keep carefully in her bag and walks toward the front of the class. She then places the fried eggs on the table, “I finish.”

“That was certainly quick.” Huong Lan speaks while still typing something on the computer.

“I don’t want to brag but I’m a pretty good cook. Try the egg and you’ll see.” Van Quynh smile confidently.

Huong Lan grabs her bag and walks toward the door, “No need for that now.”

“What…? I did what you wanted me to.” Van Quynh chase after Huong Lan.

“Did you…?” Huong Lan turns around.

“You wanted me to cook the fried egg and I did. What else do you want me to do? Cook for a village…?” Van Quynh rolls her eyes.

“I thought you were much more then this.” Huong Lan shakes her head.

Van Quynh laughs, “I know that this is about… It’s about my sister and her friends isn’t it?”

Huong Lan walks back and points her finger at Van Quynh, “I don’t mix up my work and personal life.”

“Then why…?”

“Since you are too arrogant to figures it out. I’ll explain it to you.” Huong Lan begins, “I wanted to test you if you could take directions and obviously you couldn’t.”

“I did follow all…” Van Quynh stops and remembers about the mistaken steps in the book, “If I made the eggs that way the eggs would taste very disgusting.”

Huong Lan smile, “Remember the first step of getting a job is to follow their directions even if it’s not what you want.”

Van Quynh stand disappointed as she looks at Huong Lan leaving school, “She’s just way too much.

Angela Tram Anh walks into the class to find no one, “She should remember that she’s taking us home.” Angela Tram Anh walks to Huong Lan’s desk and sees the fried eggs, “That looks delicious!”

Looking around Angela Tram Anh takes one piece of the fried egg and eats it. Her eye bulges at the good taste.

“What are you doing here?” Duong Trieu Vu walks into the room.

Angela Tram Anh swallows the rest of the eggs in her mouth and turns around with the plate of fried eggs in her hand, “Just wanted Mrs. Huong Lan to taste some of my food, but since she’s not here. Do you want any?”

Duong Trieu Vu starts to walk toward the door, “No thanks.”

“I just want an opinion on my cooking skill.” Angela Tram Anh makes puppy eyes.

“Fine…!” Duong Trieu Vu takes a bite at the yummy fried eggs, “This have to be one of the best fried eggs I’ve tasted.”

“So it’s good?”

“Amazing…! How did you make it?”

“Secret ingredients if you want I can teach you.” Angela Tram Anh says quickly without thinking.

Duong Trieu Vu smile, “I would love too. My mom… someone I know loves fried eggs and I don’t know how to make it. Maybe you can teach me here after school every day.”

Angela Tram Anh laughs nervously, “Sure thing…!”

“I got to go now see you tomorrow.” Duong Trieu Vu walks off smiling.

Angela Tram Anh smack herself in the head, “You stupid! You don’t know how to cook.”

“We all know you don’t know how to cook!” Van Quynh scares Angela Tram Anh.

Van Quynh sees the empty plate of fried eggs that she has brought and Angela Tram Anh’s greasy mouth, “You ate my fried eggs?”

“I didn’t mean too it was just way too delicious… Wait this is yours?” Angela Tram ANh wipes her mouth with a tissue paper.

“Yes and you just ate it.”

“Don’t matter about that it’s amazing. Can you teach me how to make it please?” Angela Tram Anh says with excitement.

“Well it’s kind of a secret recipe…” Van Quynh jokes, “But since you’re my best friend I’ll help you.”

“Thank you! You are the best!” Angela Tram Anh hugs Van Quynh.
