episode 024 – minh tuyet’s hardship

[Gucci Company, Ngoc Lien’s office]

Ngoc Lien throws the stack of photos taken from the day before of Nhu Loan on the bridge onto the table, “Does she think she can become a top model at my company so easily?”

“Seem like Mr. Tran Thai Hoa really likes her.” Vina Uyen Mi picks up the photos.

Ngoc Lien sits down onto her chair and spin to where her back turns on Vina Uyen Mi, “You follows her. If she even touch a piece of Mr. Tran Thai Hoa’s hair. You report that to me. You understand…?”

“Yes ma’m!”

[Gucci Company, Tran Thai Hoa’s office]

Tran Thai Hoa throws the stack of photos of Nhu Loan onto the table which startles and scares Nhu Loan; who sit on the other side of the table shaking.

Tran Thai Hoa touches his chin, “What do you think of those photos?”

Nhu Loan flips through the photos slowly examining them, “I think they could’ve been better.”

“Better…? These photos are amazing! Where have you been all these years?” Tran Thai Hoa beams.

“What?” Nhu Loan scratches her head.

“Where is your energy, rawness, and confident that I saw the day I hired you to be in this company? In the world of fashion, confident is a must.” Tran Thai Hoa walks over and lifts Nhu Loan up from her chair.

Nhu Loan shyly smiles, “I was scare…”

“Shss…” Tran Thai Hoa puts his finger on Nhu Loan’s lips. “Show me that confident and passion once again.”

Nhu Loan takes a deep breath, “I think… No I know these photos are gorgeous, fabulous, and sexy!”

“Now we’re talking.” Tran Thai Hoa raises his hand to the ceiling.

In excitement Nhu Loan gives Tran Thai Hoa a big hug which caught Tran Thai Hoa by surprise and his face turn bright red.

“I’m sorry… I was just so happy!” Nhu Loan apologizes.

Outside the office Vina Uyen Mi smile looking at her phone. On the screen of the phone is a picture of Nhu Loan and Tran Thai Hoa hugging gracefully.

Bao Han sits at her desk like everyday chatting to “Lu Bu” when Trinh Hoi scares her from behind.

“What are you doing?”

Bao Han tries quickly to close down the chat pages, “Nothing… Just working…!”

“Really…?”

“Well I was working and ch…” Bao Han explains.

Trinh Hoi burst out laughing, “It’s lunch hour. You don’t have to work.”

Bao Han looks over to the clock and laugh, “I need to get a raise. I even work during lunch hour.”

“Since you are so devoted to the company this boss can treat you to lunch right?”

“I expect a 5 star restaurant.” Bao Han smirk.

“We’ll have to wait and see.” Trinh Hoi helps Bao Han up from her chair and they both walk out the door.

The chat page maximize back onto the page. “You’ve been working hard huh?” Ky Duyen prints out the pages.

[Mystic Garden Restaurant]

Trinh Hoi helps Bao Han sit down on one of the chair near the lily pond, “Is this place great enough for you?”

“I was kidding about the high class restaurant. You didn’t have too.”

“The steak here is to die for.” Trinh Hoi raises his eyebrow.

Bao Han jaws drop, “Its lunch!”

“We can’t eat steak for lunch?”

“No. Just a bit unusual since I eat to-go boxes everyday.” Bao Han says shyly.

Trinh Hoi smile, “Changes are always good.”

The owner of the restaurant, My Linh, walks over to the table, “What would you two like for today?”

“We want two special steak plates.” Trinh Hoi orders.

“Special steak…?”

“Is there a problem?”

“Well we only serve that during dinner hours.” My Linh says disappointingly.

Trinh Hoi slips My Linh a check, “Maybe this could get me some special steak.”

My Linh looks at the check and her eyes widen, “The steak will be done in about 15 minute.”

Bao Han smile uneasily at Trinh Hoi.

[Coffee Shop]

“… Please!” Minh Tuyet hangs up the phone on Bang Tam; who beg for Minh Tuyet to not hurt her brother.

“Who was that?” Bang Kieu asks.

Minh Tuyet turns off the phone, “Commercial!”

“Have you been visiting Bang Tam in the hospital?”

“Yes everyday! You don’t need to go since the shop is very busy.” Minh Tuyet says quickly.

Bang Kieu hugs Minh Tuyet waist, “It seem like you don’t me to go visit her. Are you jealous?”

“No I’m not jealous. I just think that the shop…” Bang Kieu stop Minh Tuyet from talking by kissing her. The two share a passionate kiss when the door of the shop opens.

Khanh Ly walks into the shop and looks around, “So this is where my son spend his times.”

“Mom what are you doing here?” Bang Kieu walks over to greet Khanh ly.

“I just want to know where my son works.” Khanh Ly sits down on one of the chair.

“Well this is where.” Bang Kieu puts his hand up to the sky.

Khanh Ly spits onto the ground, “It looks pretty nice, but where are all the costumers?”

Minh Tuyet smiles forcefully, “The shop just open so there are no costumers yet.”

“Back in the day when my father, your grandfather Bang Kieu, open his shop customers have already line up to get in.” Khanh Ly looks at Minh Tuyet with evil eyes.

“Don’t show off too much.” Minh Tuyet whispers under her breath.

Khanh Ly slam onto the table, “You are such a bad son. I’ve been here for over 5 minute and I don’t even see a cup of water.”

Minh Tuyet rush herself into the back to get a cup of water, “Here you are.”

Khanh Ly takes a sip, “You want me to get a fever and die from this cold water?”

“I’ll get you a hot cup then.” Minh Tuyet rush herself to the back again.

“You want me to burn my tongue?” Khanh Ly screams.

Bang Kieu holds up the cup and blow on it briefly, “Is this nice enough mother?”

Khanh Ly takes a sip and smile, “Perfect just like my son.” Khanh Ly then looks at Minh Tuyet and stick out her tongue.

Minh Tuuyet face turn bright red in anger as she scream in her head.

[Polie Station, Tu Quyen’s Office]

Tu Quyen slams on the desk, “This doesn’t make sense. I need to go find Henry.” Tu Quyen gets up, gather her stuff and walks toward the door.

The door swing open and hit Tu Quyen on the face, “Ouch!”

Cat Tien walks in swinging her phone in her hand, “Should I have knock?”

“I don’t have time to play with you.” Tu Quyen rubs her forehead.

“Who says I was playing?” Cat Tien sits on Tu Quyen chair.

Tu Quyen points at Cat Tien, “You better get out of that chair or…”

“Or what…?” Cat Tien swing side to side on the chair.

“As a madam I order you to get out!” Tu Quyen screams.

Cat Tien throws her phone onto the desk, “Take a look!”

Tu Quyen takes the phone and press play, “Why would I want to see this?”

“You know what you and your so call best friend did.”

Tu Quyen throws the phone back onto the table, “Get out or I’ll fire you.”

Cat Tien takes the phone and sees the video she took of herself smiling and making faces, “Oops wrong video.”

Cat Tien throws it back onto the desk, “Here we go!”

Tu Quyen take the phone and watch it closely as she sees herself walking into her office and Minh Tuyet hitting the cup of water out of her hand. Then she sees Minh Tuyet stealing the printing papers, “This doesn’t prove anything.”

“Nothing…? Your friend just stole police evidence.”

“What evidence? She just took some printing paper.”

“How could you… You just saw….” Cat Tien stutters.

Tu Quyen points at the door “Get out! Since this is your first mistake I won’t take away your badge, but if you do something this stupid next time. I won’t let you go easily.”

Cat Tien stomp out the door and slam the door behind her.

Tu Quyen sits herself down and take a deep breath. Suddenly the door swing open and scares Tu Quyen.

“Can I have my phone back?”

“Here…!” Tu Quyen holds out the phone.

After Cat Tien gets her phone she stands on the other side of the door furious that once again she couldn’t win over Tu Quyen, “I’m not going to lose to you all the time.”

episode 014 – fireworks

Bao Han sits in the company alone furious and frantic at the unfairness. Ky Duyen had force Bao Han to go to work on July forth to finish the last minute touches on the company designs for a presentation.

“I hate this job so much. If I don’t have a passion for fashion, I’d quit this already.” Bao Han scream with both her hand in the sky.

Suddenly she remembers about the chat she had with the online stranger days ago. Bao Han quickly turns on the computer and sign onto AIM with eager and happiness, but to her dismay the stranger was not online. Once again Bao Han sits alone at her desk day dreaming, “Wonder if he’ll be my knight and shining armor?” Bao Han sighs.

[Coffee Shop]

After the Tu Quyen’s mud incident the coffee shop was fill with customers. From the earliest of the morning there was already a line of customers waiting for some sweet morning coffee and sweet donuts.

“Here is your donut and coffee.” Minh Tuyet places the food down.

“I didn’t order this.”

“Where are my orders?” Another customer yells from across the room.

Minh Tuyet smile, “Sorry about that.”

Minh Tuyet walks hurriedly over to the counter, “We need more peoples to help us out.”

“I know I don’t even know if a customer pay or not.” Bang Kieu agree.

“I know they right peoples for this job.” Minh Tuyet smile.

Hours later Nhu Loan and Van Quynh enter the store with frowns on their faces. They walk toward the counter, “We’re here your majesty.”

“Where are the others?” Minh Tuyet questions.

“Bao Han’s working and Tu Quyen’s is getting ready for a date.” Nhu Loan reports.

“Who works on Independent day?” Minh Tuyet rolls her eyes.

“What are you doing big sister?” Van Quynh mocks.

Minh Tuyet says quietly, “Well… Working, but this is different. Wait did you say Tu Quyen is getting ready for a date?”

“Yeah she didn’t even tell us.”

“Here take these and start working.” Minh Tuyet hands Nhu Loan and Van Quynh trays.

“This is going to be a long day.” Nhu Loan and Van Quynh walk off.

[Outside of Mystic Garden Restaurant]

In a deep V cut light pink with silver pieces dress Tu Quyen walks toward the outside restaurant where she and Luong Tung Quang will have their first debut date. Tu Quyen had pulled her bangs back with clips and also curls her hair because she remembers that Andy had once told her that she look at her best with curls.

At the moment Tu Quyen spot Luong Tung Quang sitting alone at a table near a pond with bright yellow and white lilies growing out of it. Lights hang from above the red covered table. In the middle of the table are three lighted white candles.

“This looks so romantic.” Tu Quyen smile.

Luong Tung Quang stands up from his seat as soon as he sees Tu Quyen. He then hands her a pile of bright red rose, “I wrap it up this time so you won’t get hurt.” Luong Tung Quang winks as he helps Tu Quyen sit down.

“It’s beautiful here. You don’t have to take me to somewhere so romantic.”

“I want to be as romantic as possible to see…”

“To see what…?” Tu Quyen questions.

Luong Tung Quang stutter, “I mean so that I would make a good first impression.”

“You already did yesterday at the park.”

“May I take your orders?” The owner of the restaurant, My Linh, asks.

“I would like to have beef steak and wine please.” Luong Tung Quang closes his menu.

“Same.” Tu Quyen hand My Linh the menu.

“Then what do you want for desserts?” My Linh hands back the menu.

Tu Quyen looks at Luong Tung Quang and smile, “Cheesecake?”

“Two please.” Luong Tung Quang makes his hand into the peace sign.

“It will be out in no time now.”
“That was quite embarrassing.” Tu Quyen laughs.

Luong Tung Quang smile, “It’s my first time taking someone to a place so high class and romantic. If they didn’t make…”

“They didn’t make you. Whose they…?” Tu Quyen is anxious.

“My friend… buddies… They say taking a girl out here is very romantic.” Luong Tung Quang stutters.

Tu Quyen laughs, “Why are you so nervous?”

“I’m not nervous… Well any guy would be if they are sitting here with the prettiest girl in the world.”

Tu Quyen screams under her breath, “Oh my god!”

[Coffee Shop]

Bang Kieu had gone into the back to clean up and lock the back door while Minh Tuyet sweeps the floor before closing the store. Nhu Loan and Van Quynh fall down onto a chair exhausted at the full day of walking and taking orders.

“This is child labor.” Van Quynh cries.

“Either do the work or live in the street.” Minh Tuyet grins.

“We deserve some money.” Nhu Loan complains.

Minh Tuyet shudder, “But you don’t work here.”

Van Quynh gasps, “We did work here tomorrow.”

“Next time ok?”

“We want the money now.” Nhu Loan runs toward the cash register.

Minh Tuyet slams the broom on the register – almost hitting Nhu Loan’s hands, “You want that? You must go through me first.”

Van Quynh grabs Minh Tuyet from behind, “I got her! Get the money!”

Minh Tuyet screams and struggles to get out from Van Quynh’s strong grip. Nhu Loan sticks out her tongue as she takes the money slowly. Suddenly a young male with a bald head, Henry Chuc, walks into the store. Seeing Minh Tuyet struggles he ran forward to help her out.

“Are they robbers?” Henry uses his hand to protect Minh Tuyet.

“I have a gun don’t move!” Van Quynh says in a serious tone.

At that same time Bang Kieu enters the room – seeing Minh Tuyet behind a stranger back and Van Quynh tense voice Bang Kieu was scare.

Minh Tuyet lowers Henry’s arm down as she walks toward Bang Kieu, “Stop kidding around. This is my boyfriend, Bang Kieu, my sister, Van Quynh, and my friend, Nhu Loan, we’re just fooling around.”

“What’s going on?” Bang Kieu is confused.

“I’ll explain later.”

Henry’s eyes bulges, “That’s a weird way to kid around. Any who is this place still open?”

“Yes! This is quite late to still be eating donut and drink coffee.” Minh Tuyet is surprise.

“It is the forth of July.”

“You’re lucky we were just about to close.” Nhu Loan smile.

“What would you like to eat or drink?” Bang Kieu asks.

Henry scratches his bald shiny head, “I don’t want any foods…”

“Then why are you here?” Van Quynh questions.

“I’m here in search for my wife.”

“Your wife… Why here?” Minh Tuyet is anxious.

“I flew all the way in from Washington because one of my family members saw her here at the shop yesterday.”

Bang Kieu apologizes, “We’re sorry but we have tons of customer in the last two days.”

“Her name is Dalena, she has beautiful blond hair.” Henry describes.

“Is she the one that made the big scene?” Van Quynh whispers to Nhu Loan.

“Maybe I don’t know.”

“Do you have a picture of her?” Minh Tuyet asks.

Henry takes out his wallet which opens to a beautiful picture of a blond bombshell in a blue tank top sitting in front of a lake.

“Yes she has been here.” Minh Tuyet answers quickly.

“Where is she now?”

“We don’t really know where she is because she only came for some coffee.” Bang Kieu answers.

Henry slams at the table which made every startle, “I need to find her.”

“You must be really in love with her.” Nhu Loan admires.

“Yes I do and I must find her before anyone else does.” Henry takes off leaving everyone in the shop astonish.

[Outside of Mystic Garden Restaurant]

After Luong Tung Quang and Tu Quyen finish their tasty meal, delicious dessert and fine wine they decided to go on a stroll along the pond with the beautiful lilies. Hand in hand they walk around the pond. They then both stop in their track and face each other.

“You look absolutely stunning tonight.” Luong Tung Quang leans forward to kiss Tu Quyen.

Their lips were about to touch when Tu Quyen sees a mysterious guy in a black mask snatching a purse from an old woman. Suddenly her heels break under her feet which cause Luong Tung Quang to kiss her forehead.

Tu Quyen pushes Luong Tung Quang aside, takes off her heels and ran after the robber in her light pink dress – Luong Tung Quang follow from behind.

The robber pushes a man off a yellow motorcycle and drove away. Tu Quyen thought there was no chance for her to follow the robber because she was on feet. However, she sees him turn the corner. Tu Quyen immediately takes a short cut through the dark and scary alley – still with Luong Tung Quang following from behind.

The moment she reaches the other side of the alley she didn’t sight any person on a motorcycle. Tu Quyen was furious at herself for what had just happen and slam her hand at the light pole. Then at that moment she hears the sound of a motorcycle and as she looks up she sees the same guy in a mask on the yellow motorcycle turning into the street.

Tu Quyen jumps up happily with a huge smile on her face. “Now how do I get a robber off a motorcycle?” Tu Quyen grins evilly at a thick stick on the middle of the street.

The motorcycle came straight forward with full speed into the swinging stick swings by Tu Quyen. The robber flew backward onto the ground heavily while the stolen motorcycle slid forward out of control.

Tu Quyen walks and puts her left foot over the robber, “Don’t mess with barefoot Madam Quyen.”

After bending over and getting the purse Tu Quyen turns around where she sees a bunch of peoples applauding and cheering at her. The woman that got her purse stolen thanks and kisses Tu Quyen. Among the audience stands Luong Tung Quang clapping his hand and smiling with satisfaction.

Tu Quyen lifts her head with pride when she sees something shooting into the sky – the sparks blast into thousands of other lights. She then remembers it was forth of July. Fireworks blew up in many different colors and shape in the black and silent sky. Luong Tung Quang walks over and takes Tu Quyen’s hand. Hand in hand they walk together once again, but this time gazing at the multi color fireworks.

[Coffee Shop]

The moment Bang Kieu, Minh Tuyet, Nhu Loan, and Van Quynh heard the fireworks they hurriedly outside to enjoy the view. They had decided to sit and enjoy the beautiful arrangement.

“Did he just swallow her face?” Van Quynh says in a disgusted face at Minh Tuyet and Bang Kieu kissing.

Nhu Loan pushes Van Quynh lightly, “You know you wish you have someone by your side enjoying this romantic night with.”

Minh Tuyet rests her head on Bang Kieu’s shoulder, “I wish time would freeze this moment forever.”

Bao Han had pulled up the blind of the window to enjoy the late night fireworks. Sitting alone in the silent and dark office Bao Han sigh with sadness, “Happy forth of July lonely Bao Han.”
